"the sun has left this place" is a photographic project focused on exploration of depression and anxiety. It unfolds in the familiar Irish landscapes that comfort me and reflect the depths of sadness, rawness and vulnerabilities I often conceal.

The project delves into a double absence: the literal lack of sunshine I left behind in Portugal, replaced by endless rain and a never-ending melancholy. The metaphorical sun, representing life's joy, has also dimmed significantly.

Black and white photographs echo the sadness I'm navigating and a reality I'm striving to accept and eventually find solace in.
